I think I need a new category for Great Canadian Model Railroads: Dioramas. Then I can include Okanagan Landing, a new HO scale display at Paddlewheel Park in Okanagan Landing, B.C.
The diorama, which was featured in the December issue of Railroad Model Craftsman, depicts the community as it was in 1914. It was built by the North Okanagan Model Railroad Club.
The photos on this page are by Don Wiexel of Don Wiexel Photography, who added real backgrounds to a few of the photographs.
Okanagan Lake, in B.C.'s southern interior, once was the scene of active CPR steamboat
and car float service. Passenger service ended in 1957, and the last CP Rail barge
service ended in 1988.
