If someone needs to leave for any reason, he or she can simply open and close the gate.

For open houses, when people are coming and going all the time, I leave the gate open and only run trains from the Fort Frances yard to the upper level staging yard. Since the run from that point to the upper level staging yard is about 8 minutes, there's still lots of time to watch a train in action.JDL56https://www.blogger.com/profile/02372225959736999719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5723635728039107400.post-58393831698729066782010-02-26T12:48:37.428-08:002010-02-26T12:48:37.428-08:00Hi John,

I also had a former donut-shaped layout and one visitor, a senior but solid Presbyterian minister came for a visit, came up too early, and that whole part of the layout rose an inch or so off the floor! Fortunately, he was OK.

My G-shaped switching layout is walk-in, but my recent change of locale from Winnipeg to Vancouver came with the addition of a continuous-run option, which uses a "drop in" section.

Question: How do you coordinate visitors entering/leaving the room when the lower level is operating and the swinging gate is closed?

EricErichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11822288099043790296noreply@blogger.com
